Mobile MIM

Short description

This app provides an opportunity for everyone to have a look into the future when we get transparent bodies. Mobile MIM is a tool for medical professionals, not patients, but this distinction will be less important in the future. As we get access to more data about our bodies and it is stored in digital format we will be able to track and view the development and possible scenarios for our bodies.

This app can help towards transformative transparency by illustrating what can be seen and how medical data can be transferred encrypted.

The best with the app/supporting initiative

+ The fact that it helps people understand that soon they will have access to data about their bodies that they probably never dreamt of having access to.

The weak parts of the app/supporting initiative

- Hard to say anything negative about this app as it was selected to illustrate something that it was not meant to deliver on at all.

What could accelerate this app/supporting initiative into a world changer?

> Allowing people to see what kind of habits and materials in our environment that have an impact on our body would be a major step towards a transparency that could change the way our economy works and the risks companies are allowed to take with our bodies by letting out materials that are toxic and/or endocrine disrupters. The way we have polluted our environment is not very much discussed (I actually met a doctor recently who thought that the focus on the financial crisis and climate change was supported by the chemical companies in order to move focus from what is going on and what research is showing. Even if it was a joke he was very frustrated).

Delivery

How direct is the delivery of the result the app tries to achieve
  • Direct
  • Indirect
  • Inspirational
  • Long shot

Comments

The direct result is to sell a new way for health professional to access data, but the transformative potential for the health sector is becoming increasingly obviously and apps like this will accelerate a shift in how we approach healthcare.

Transformative approach

How transformative is it
  • A new world
  • A major shift
  • A bit of a shake-up
  • A gentle rocking

Comments

When people realize that they have bodies that are more important and more complex than our society tends to treat them a lot will happen. Allowing people to just get the idea of what they could see is inspiring.

How much does it encourage collaborations

How much are new networks supported
  • Strong support for global networks?
  • Currently encourages new forms of collaboration
  • Provides interesting opportunities in the future
  • Restricted to a small (expert) group

Comments

Not at all really at this stage. But hopefully it can also contribute to support those who want to secure ownership of our own health data.

What synergies can be delivered

How well does it also solve other problems/generate solutions
  • It solves everything
  • Several important challenges
  • Some important challenges
  • Only one challenge

Comments

Health and a body that is transparent can trigger a lot of activity in areas from food and air quality to the way we work and the role of sports.

Nine billion contribution

How global is it? Is it helping/will it help everyone on the planet
  • Instant global equality
  • Almost global
  • Getting (incrementally) global
  • Not applicable

Comments

If anything the risk is that people get even more narcissistic than our society has encouraged so far. It is easy to imagine how commercial interest already is planning to make money out of this.

Building on current trends

How well does it use current trends
  • The app is setting new trends by itself
  • Building on multiple trends
  • Effectively building on one trend
  • Not really building on any major trend

Comments

The new technologies that allow our bodies to become increasingly transparent together with knowledge about what companies that are releasing different substances in society is an interesting combination.

Timeframe

How fast can it deliver
  • It's already happening
  • In the coming weeks
  • In a year or so
  • In a distant future (hopefully)

Comments

It will take a while before the parts come together but it will happen in the next few years.

Transparency

Does it support transformative transparency
  • Brave new transparency
  • Transparency that is innovative (never seen before)
  • Increased transparency, but nothing innovative
  • No increase in transparency

Comments

The day our bodies become really transparent will be a day for the history books. This is just a fragment, but it will be the many fragments that change the world as we know it.
